Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Stacey has wanted to be a dentist ever since he can remember! Both his father and his grandfather were dentists, and he was always intrigued by their stories and first-hand observations of helping patients. He really wanted to emulate what they did on a daily basis as a part of his own life too – and the rest is history.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Stacey achieved his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. After graduation, he joined the US Navy to continue his education with an Advanced General Dentistry (AGD) residency. During that time, he was stationed in Jacksonville, FL, Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, and at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. This residency gave him the tools needed to perform a wide variety of dental procedures, and he’s pursued continuing education ever since so as to keep building on those skills. Today, he is a member of the American Dental Association.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Stacey and his wife Kim have three children named Ethan, Alec, and Olivia. When he isn’t busy at the practice, you can typically find him snow skiing, mountain biking, hiking, or simply traveling with his family to see new places. He also enjoys reading, watching soccer, and keeping up with college athletics, particularly UNC, Georgia, and App State.
