He loves helping them feel genuinely confident about their smiles again! Keep reading below if you’d like to learn more about him, or contact Parkview Dental today to schedule your first appointment.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Holt actually started out studying finance, and even worked at a local bank. After a year or so, he came to the conclusion that he actually disliked his job and wanted to change majors. He spoke to his girlfriend at the time (now his wife) about the change, and she said that she thought he’d make a really good dentist because he reminded her of her childhood dentist. Dr. Holt had never really considered the option, but he decided to shadow a local dentist for a day or two to learn more. After the first day, he knew immediately that getting to work with his hands while caring for others was exactly what he wanted to do for his career!
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After attending the University of Utah, Dr. Holt pursued his Doctor of Dental Medicine at Temple University. He is also trained in both dental implant placement and restoration. Dr. Holt completed a year-long extensive dental implant training course offered by the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Some of his other continuing education includes extensive training with same-day CEREC restorations and dental extractions. He really enjoys researching new techniques and technological advancements in the field! As for memberships, he’s currently a part of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Holt and his beautiful wife Laura have two young children named Claire (who is perpetually dressed as a princess) and John (who’s biggest desire is to be anywhere his dad is). In his spare time, he is an avid fly-fisher. He also enjoys coaching his daughter’s soccer team and attending swimming lessons with both kids at the local JCC.
